“A printed batik takes ten minutes. Ours takes nine days. You can feel the difference.”
Nine artisans, nine canting tools, nine days for one sarong. Every line is drawn in hot wax by hand, then dyed, boiled and dyed again.
No two pieces are the same. If you see a small wobble in a line, that is a hand, not a machine.
Their batch day is On order. We collect on Thursday and pack on Friday, so what you order this week was made this week.
